This past weekend was a busy one. Not full of fun activities, in fact, we hardly left the house. Instead, we were busy working around the house. We have been trying to work for the past couple of months but our plans kept getting sidelined for one reason or the other. We wanted to get everything done early so we can enjoy the rest of spring right into summer!
First, we started with the landscaping. We replaced all our irrigation lines in our flower beds so I hope to have better luck with my flowers this year. Once we got that done, we were able to plant our annuals & mulch. I have to say that it's only taken a couple of years or researching, planning & moving things around, but I think our flower beds look pretty good! Let's hope that lasts through the summer heat. I didn't take any picture of our landscaping, but I am sure you will see glimpses as we spend more time outside playing with Sadie.
Next we conquered the garage. That's one of the projects that no one wants to do, but you're so glad you did it afterwards! Since Sadie is playing outside a lot more, we really needed to child proof the garage. Now we can shut the gate, let her run around & not have to worry about her at all :)
We started with our 3rd garage, which is mostly used for storage. Since this garage is separate, we made this the garage that is off limits to kids. Most everything in here is related to our house or real estate. As you can see we got it cleaned up & organized thanks to Bryan's help!
We love those overhead storage racks & I was pleasantly surprised how much we could store up there. Everything on those top racks are for Christmas, so we only have to get them down once a year. I think it will be easier getting it down here than messing with the attic. Next, Bryan bought some new cabinets that lock so all of his tools & equipment are put up & out of the way. And finally, we put all of our chemicals & paint up high so Sadie can't reach them. We knew it was a bad sign that she kept picking up the paint can & carrying it around like one of her purses!
Next, we organized our 2 car garage, which is where we park. This garage is totally kid friendly & everything that we play with is in here.
I can't believe we have accumulated this much stuff already & Sadie is not even 1 1/2 years old yet!
I know this seems like a boring post, but we worked hard all weekend & wanted to brag about how great it looks. Bryan did an awesome job, even though this is something he was not looking forward to. At the end of the day, we donated a lot of junk, hauled off a lot of trash, got organized & made everything safe for Sadie. What a great feeling! Hopefully it will stay this way.....
