Easter Eggstravaganza 2013

I am really excited for Easter this year because Sadie is finally old enough to enjoy it! She may not fully comprehend everything, but she is definitely old enough to walk around holding her basket & picking up eggs. It's a good thing since we have 4 egg hunts this month!
We went to our first one over the weekend. It was held by the city & they had over 70,000 Easter eggs! It was crowded but they held it at the soccer stadium & they had each soccer field divided by age, so she participated on the field for kids 2 & under. To be honest, I have never seen this many Easter eggs in my life!

You can probably see in the back ground all of the eggs scattered around. And where there weren't eggs, there were goodie bags of snacks! We had a hard time containing Sadie before they cut the ribbon & blew the whistle. Luckily, she had her friend Jordan there to help her wait.

It was fun having the whole family together with the Dads since we get together with Mia & Jordan often.

Finally it was time to go & Sadie took off! She mostly went for the treat bags (goldfish, teddy grahams, etc.) instead of the eggs I think because they are bigger. She was funny at first - she would pick it up:

and try to eat it.

Or she would carry it around until she found something else & then she would throw the old one down & pick up the new one! I was busy taking pictures while Bryan held her bag & tried to teach her how to put them in the bag:

Yes, she does have an adorable Easter basket but this was our first time so we rushed out the door & left it sitting on the kitchen table :( Don't worry - she has many more hunts to use it at. Finally she got the hang of it & I was taking pictures like crazy because she looked too cute! Please excuse the long post, but I am a first time Mom who just has to brag. Check out her action shots:

After the hunt was over, we let the kids run around & play. They had bounce houses but they were too little to get in with the big kids. They also had face painting but I don't think she can sit still long enough to finish the painting. At this age they didn't need any entertainment - they saw a big, open field & they were content just being outside. There was a DJ playing music over the speakers & my favorite part of the day was when Sadie started dancing:

What an awesome day - it was perfect weather, Sadie survived her first egg hunt & we came home with lots of goodies. We will definitely go back next year.
