Divalicious

In case I haven't mentioned it in earlier blog posts, Sadie has really turned out to be a little diva! Of course I dress her girly, but a lot of her true personality & character is starting to reveal itself the older she gets & she has definitely shown her girly side. One example, she loves purses! I didn't teach her how to hold her purse, she picked it up one day, draped it on her arm & the rest is history. The majority of the time you can see her walking around the house like this:

Or this:

And sometimes with this:

You see, all of her purses were given to her. Obviously her Minnie Mouse purse we just got at Disney World. Her Fisher Price purse & all of it's accessories was a birthday present. The butterfly purse she is holding above was actually given to me by my Aunt at one of my baby showers. Thank goodness I held on to it! She also has some special purses that we haven't let her play with yet. I bought her a quiet purse for her to take to church when she get a little older. I bought it as a souvenir when we were in The Bahamas. And her grandparents also had a purse made when they were on a cruise:

I have tried to let her play with this one several times, but she keeps trying to pull it apart since it is woven, so I am going to wait until she is older with this one as well.

I guess it all started with me. My Mom bought me my diaper bag when I was pregnant & obviously I have carried it every day since she was born. Since I hardly carry a purse anymore, my Mom also got me a matching wristlet that replaced my wallet. I guess Sadie has watched me carry that bag & pull out that wristlet on a daily basis & one day she decided to take over the wristlet. It didn't matter where we went or what we were doing, she would be happy if I just let her carry her own version of her purse.

Everyone likes to tease me that I started her off on the wrong path, because in case you didn't notice, it is a Coach bag. Sorry Dad!

The good news is that sometimes she even finds simple things around the house that she also uses to carry like a purse such as a random shopping bag:

or the dishwasher basket:

I happen to think she is adorable walking around with her purses & consider it a compliment that she is following in my footsteps. I do worry about the future when she gets older. I think at last count she had 7 or 8 purses in her collection. At least at this point they all cost less than $20!
