TX - OU Weekend

This past weekend was our traditional TX-OU weekend that we celebrate annually with the same group of friends. They came in on Thursday night & the guys kicked off the weekend at the Dallas Chapter of Texas Exes golf tournament on Friday. We thought they were kidding when they came home, but they actually won the tournament! They even had the trophies to prove it :)

Later that weekend the guys celebrated with a couple games of ping pong:

David & Adriana left their kids at home, so we sent Sadie to her grandparents house. That way we could enjoy another tradition: a nice dinner the night before the big game:

Don't worry, the grandparents are really good about sending us pictures of Sadie. Here she is on Friday night wearing her Halloween pajamas:

Isn't she beautiful without her helmet on? She gets to take it off for an hour every night before bed.

The next morning we woke up early & headed to Fair Park. Another tradition we have is getting a Fletcher's corn dog before the game:

My Dad also drove up on Saturday for the game. Speaking of the game, I am tempted to not even write about it, but instead I will go on a slight tangent. For those who don't know, we got KILLED. Bryan & I have had season tickets for 9 years now & that was the most disappointing football game we have ever been to. I like to say that we are not fair weather fans - we are there win or lose & we always stay to the end. Usually we are still standing after the game with our Horns up while the school song is played. Not this year. Fans were actually leaving at the end of the first quarter & not coming back! We stuck it out until half time, were tempted to leave, but we stayed through the end of the 3rd quarter. We were hoping they would come back & try to redeem themselves after the first half, but not so much. That is the first time we have ever gotten up & left in the middle of a game. Instead, we went back into the fair & drowned our sorrows in fried food - I tried fried mashed potatoes dipped in gravy & my personal favorite, fried cake balls!

Later that night we had a pizza party at the house & Sadie finally came home. She was even dressed in school spirit, but it apparently didn't help.

Finally, we enjoyed Sunday brunch before everyone headed home. Sadie was excited that some of her friends decided to join her for breakfast:

Even though we may have been disappointed by the outcome of the game, we still enjoyed our weekend with friends. It is an annual tradition that we have come to love & I am already looking forward to next year!
