7th Grade Griffin Soccer

We came back from spring break & Sadie went straight to school soccer. They had about 30 girls try out & 18 made the roster and they have had games the past 6 weeks. It's definitely different than club soccer but she has had a blast playing with her friends with zero pressure. I was one of the soccer moms, so we went to school the morning of their first game & tried to decorate the locker room to surprise them:

We lucked out & their first game was home:

And they won! She didn't score this game, but she did in their next game - in fact, she didn't just score 1 goal, she scored 3:

We saw a lot of friends at different schools, so it was fun seeing them play against each other but hard to get pictures of them together except for Anna:

and Sadie had a lot of fans come watch her - friends from school, one of our youth ministers from church and even grandparents:

Last night was their last game & it was a home game with our rival, Cobb. We have a few friends over there & both of our schools feed into the same high school so we were so excited to play & then it rained all day. Thank goodness it finally stopped raining about an hour before & since they play on turf, they got to play! It was definitely chilly & wet outside, but we all smiled when we saw the rainbow over the field:

One of the other families took a few action shots:

We ended up losing (which honestly was expected) but it was a fun night & we were so excited to celebrate the season with this group of girls:

After the game, we all went to a restaurant for dinner & a sweet treat:

And of course, gifts for the coaches:

We absolutely LOVED our first season of school soccer & look forward to many more years to come with Griffin & Wakeland!
