Thanksgiving Break

The girls & I kicked off Thanksgiving break with a quick road trip to Conroe to spend a few days with my family. Bryan was busy at work & had a business trip planned, so we mostly made it a girl's weekend. Sunday night, my mom treated us to a movie at the Rooftop Cinema in Houston & we had so much fun!

It was perfect weather, they had a lot of photo ops & we got cute Adirondack chairs with a heater to help keep us warm. You could bring in your own blankets & snacks, but we got a free hot beverage with our ticket:

Anyone wondering what we saw?!

We had a fun few days with the girls shopping, eating & visiting. That seems to be what we are good at!

We were home for the Thanksgiving holiday & we started the morning with over 8,000 of our closest friends at the Turkey Trot:

It was in the 30's so it was cold out there! Sophie wanted to run the miracle mile so I ran with her:

That girl booked it & I had to hustle to keep up!

Then we headed to the finish line of the 5k where Bryan & Sadie were running:

Sadie got 9th place out of her age group & Bryan got 12th - pretty proud of those 2! They finished the race strong & at the front of the pack:

We saw a ton of friends there & it was a fun way to kick off the holiday.

On Friday, Sadie got invited to an ODP soccer practice at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, which is outside of Amarillo:

We flew up for a quick 24 hour get away where she got to practice 2 hours on Friday night & 4 hours on Saturday with college coaches, a few college players, ODP coaches & a few scouts. We didn't know what to expect at this campus but I was shocked by how nice their athletic facilities were. They had 2 turf practice fields behind the football field where they played:

One of her team mates actually lives in Amarillo so we met up with her for lunch on Saturday in between training sessions:

And we lucked out because we have family friends who happen to live there. They were out of town but they let us stay at their house while we dog sat. Sadie loved helping out with Rowdy:

It was FREEZING Friday night (literally, the windchill was 23!) but she had a great time getting to train with new coaches. That girl love soccer!

While we were gone, Bryan & Sophie spent some time together. They went & saw Moana 2, visited the National Video Game Museum & had several gluten filled meals at places they can't eat at with us. Ha!

We had a great week together and now we are switching things up - Sophie & I have a fun trip this week while Bryan & Sadie hold down the fort.
