Texas Road Trip

Happy new year! Here we are 1 week after Christmas & settling into the new year at home with lots to catch up on. Last I wrote was the day after Christmas when we just had our flight to NY cancelled. If you watch the news at all, then you probably know Southwest was an absolute nightmare all week long, so it wasn't just our flight. Even if we wanted to take our re-booked flight, it was cancelled also. And our luggage was lost. Poor Bryan spent 5 hours waiting in line at baggage claim last week & he probably made 25 calls before we finally located in them in NY. Of course, all of the flights were cancelled & no one could make it to NY but somehow our luggage did?! It took 10 days before our luggage eventually made it home. Thank goodness we finally got it back!
After a few days at home, we decided we were going to go somewhere & a quick Texas road trip was just the right idea:

We loaded up last Wednesday & drove to Austin to see the girls' basketball game:

It never gets old seeing Hook 'Em or staying afterwards to get pictures & autographs:

Sadie got her poster signed last time so she wanted her shirt signed this time! Since this was Sophie's first time, she was excited for her poster:

Of course the Lady Longhorns won & it was a fun evening:

Next stop, San Antonio! Bryan booked us a hotel on the riverwalk & it sure was fun seeing Longhorns everywhere! It was the Alamo Bowl & we bought tickets to the Texas-Washington football game later that night but spent the day walking around the riverwalk. We were just there over Labor Day, but it was hot, so it was perfect weather this time. And we had more time to take the river cruise which was fun:

It was pretty seeing everything decorated, especially at night:

We ate dinner on the river also before walking to the stadium. Since we bought tickets at the last moment, we got good seats, but they were on the Washington side:

It wasn't that bad because there were way more Longhorn fans there then Huskies, but we did sit close to their cheerleaders & band. But it's fun being close to the field for pre-game & halftime:

Within the first minute of the game, Bryan's phone was blowing up because apparently, he made tv:

Lots of sideline selfies:

The game didn't start until 8:00 so it was a late night, but sugar kept this girl going:

The Longhorns ended up losing but it was still a good game & we had a great time! I mean, it wasn't NY, but it was better than sitting around the house at home. I love doing life with these Little Longhorns!

Final stop, Conroe to celebrate Christmas & New Year's with my family!
