July 4th 2022

We usually have friends over to celebrate the 4th of July, but this year we had special visitors in town - Bryan's brother Tim & his family! They came to visit so I thought it was a good excuse to host Bryan's family for a pool party & cookout. As we do every year, we decorated the house & hung our pool sign & spent most of our time in the backyard:

Our immediate family came over earlier & the kids spent the afternoon swimming with their cousins. I thought it was only fitting to treat them to red, white & blue bomp pops:

Later that afternoon/early evening, we had some of Bryan's extended family join us for dinner:

We ate a lot & it was delicious but how could we end the night without dessert?! And the Dodson family excels in the dessert category! His parents & Nanny made us home made ice cream:

We enjoyed the rest of the evening visiting & swimming:

When the sun finally started to set, we moved the party to the front yard & we had our own small firework show in the street:

This has kind of become an annual tradition Bryan started a few years ago. He takes the girls & they have fun buying them & picking them out - we even had a few neighbors join us! And one of our sweet neighbors took a Dodson family picture of us while we were out there:

And this is only some of us - several people left earlier because they didn't want to stay late for the fireworks. But I loved that both of Bryan's grandmothers stayed! Finally, at 10:00 we walked over to our community pool & watched the city of Frisco's fireworks - they always go off after the FC Dallas game, so it is a late night & I'm so glad the little ones were able to hang on until we saw them:

We had the best day & I am always so thankful to the family I married into! And I am thankful for these 2 little patriotic cuties - Happy Birthday America!
