Life Lately - Summer Edition

This is my last official post for summer so it is basically a photo dump of all of the extra pictures I have floating around from my phone. Of course we swam this summer, but dare I say it was probably the least we have ever used our pool, which makes me sad. First off, it has been busy. We were gone most of June & July was consumed with soccer. Also, we are remodeling our house so things just haven't been normal around here & we aren't entertaining the way we usually do. But we did have friends over here & there:

Of course when friends come to swim, they always spend a lot of time on the trampoline also:

We went to our neighborhood pool a few times, once for a farewell party for a friend who was moving:

Sophie's girl scout troop had their year end party at the water park:

Her cheerleading squad also had a pool party:

Sophie also enjoyed an afternoon at a splash pad unexpectedly with a friend:

One night Bryan held basketball practice outside at someone's house & as soon as it was over, the girls took off for the pool - they didn't even ask! They juts jumped in with their clothes on:

As much as we love water in the summer, we did a lot of stuff without getting wet, too! I took the girls to the movies a few times, specifically the $1 movie clubhouse at Cinemark:

The girls got a free pass to try a martial art class:

They finished tumbling at the beginning of the summer & Sophie got to show off a new skill in front of the whole gym:

Sadie went to art camp:

She also painted when she had a sleepover at her friend's house:

They also had free passes to Crayola so I let them invite a friend & we spent the day getting colorful:

Sophie gave Bryan a makeover:

They also enjoyed a date night together where they ate all of the gluten they wanted!

The girls went to the fair one night while they were with the babysitter:

Sadie got to spend some extra time with her cousins while Sophie was out of town:

Another weekend Sophie got some extra mom & dad time while Sadie was at soccer, so we took her out to eat & while we were there, she fed the ducks:

We did make it to a few FC Dallas soccer games:

Surprisingly, Bryan & I actually had the time for a few date nights. We went to a wedding:

We also drove into Dallas & went to dinner with some friends:

And we couldn't go through the summer without lots of sweet treats:

We officially ended it with the Back to School Bash last weekend. They had pizza, sno cones, bounce houses, face painting, etc. but the best part was getting to see all of our friends & teachers back on campus again:

It's been a weird summer. We have been living uncomfortably in our house while it's being remodeled, the girls were super busy & soccer officially has taken over our family but at least we had some good times thrown in between. I'm not sure if we are ready for fall yet, but ready or not, here it is!
