Breckenridge

After we left Divide, we drove to Breckenridge, where we met my parents & my sisters family. We planned this trip well over a year ago, which was also well before the pandemic. We questioned rather we should go, but we all stayed close to home before the trip & decided to take a chance because we were all ready for a vacation. We knew we could wear masks & be careful, just like we do at home. In fact, we had to wear masks more there - they are required at all times, indoors & outdoors:

I'm not used to wearing it outside, so that was new. Plus, we all wore so many layers & gloves that I felt more covered & protected there than I normally do at home.

The day we all drove in, it snowed pretty good so the kids were excited when we got there. They had a blast playing in the snow together, sledding & building snowmen:

They even got Max out there on the sled:

Our resort could not have been in a better location. We stayed at the Marriott, which was on Peak 9. We had 3 separate rooms for each family & they were all on the 1st floor together overlooking the ski lift. You could literally walk out & jump on the chair lift at any time! It was the perfect ski in & ski out location:

The other perfect thing about our location, was that the kids could go outside & play while we stayed inside & watched! We could just open the sliding glass door & talk to them & watch them while they played & we stayed warm:

Most of the group skied most days, but we had a few other fun activities planned that I will talk about this week also. I do not like to ski so I had planned on helping stay in with Max or helping cook/clean for dinner most afternoons. But I did sneak out with Zoe & Sophie a few times. The first time we walked around just to check out the area:

While we were out the girls got hot chocolate:

These 2 didn't ski as much so they spent another day walking Main Street with me & hitting up all of the stores. They had so much fun shopping & every time they found a photo prop they wanted a picture:

We even found a little playground where they had fun playing in the snow:

Their favorite stores were the ones with crystals & rocks:

While we were there, we celebrated Christmas & my mom even brought a small tree to decorate:

We also celebrated New Year's:

Unfortunately, I woke up sick on New Year's Eve. I ended up running fever, having body aches, chills for a good day or two so I spent the rest of the trip quarantined in our room by myself:

Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend as much time in the snow as I had wanted to. Nor did I get to hang out or visit with my family as much as I wanted to. I couldn't even help with any of the cooking or the cleaning so my mom & sister were stuck doing it all. In fact, Bryan had to bring me all of my meals to our room so I could eat by myself. Let's just say I read every magazine that I brought & watched every movie I could find. It wasn't exactly how I planned on spending our vacation, but at least no one else got sick while we were there & they got to enjoy their time together. Especially the kids. They had a blast with each other & in the snow!
