Today was the big day - Sophie officially turned 7! Not only was it her birthday, but she also got to return to school today after her 10 day quarantine. Woo-hoo! Who's celebrating more - Sophie or me for getting some time to myself again without having to help with her virtual school!
She woke up early this morning because she was so excited:
She asked for a donut & Sadie got upset & cried because she couldn't have one so we settled on gluten free donut holes:
That pretty sums up our Sophie - she is very giving & she always gives in to whatever Sadie wants. She had fun with the donut holes though & we made a smiley face with the help of her fruit. We even had time to let her open a few presents before school since she woke up early:
They had themed dress up days at school for the holidays & today was pajama day in case you were wondering why she looked so cozy. Bryan & I got to go have lunch with her & she requested Cookie Rack as her birthday treat:
That is our favorite place to get cookies in town but they are not gluten free, so we tried to sneak & have them at school while Sadie wasn't around. We even got extra to pass out to the front office staff.
After school, one of her best friends stopped by to drop off a gift. Can you tell she loved it?!
Sadie had basketball practice so afterwards instead of coming home to cook, we decided to surprise the girls & take them out to eat. They both got a free kids meal for their birthday at one of their favorite restaurants & we were hoping it would be less crowded on a weeknight. They didn't make a big scene & sing to Sophie, but they did treat her to a free birthday dessert:
Overall, she had a great day! To be honest, I don't know if she was more excited that it was her birthday or that she officially got to go back to school. Either way, I am glad we were able to help make her day special.
