Amon Carter Lake, 2020

It has been a busy week & I feel like I have so much to share! I guess I will go a little out of order & start with the holiday weekend. The girls had Friday & Monday off from school, so we drove Northwest of Frisco to meet my sister & her family at her in law's house. They have always invited us to come spend some time on the lake & we had never made, until now:

We made it a quick day trip last Friday to kick off the weekend. The girls had never been to the lake so they were so excited! Technically, Sadie has been to a lake at camp but she has never been out on a boat & tubed or skied. Actually, let me clarify again. We have been on several boats, jet skis, etc. but they were all in the ocean. First up, Sophie. She was a little scared so we thought it would be best if she went first:

Can you tell she is a mix of excited & scared at the same time?! We had her go with Bryan & Natalie and the plan was to keep it slow:

But she freaked out before it even took off! Poor girl was crying & did not like it:

Unfortunately, that set the tone for the rest of the trip. The big kids were ready to go next & nothing could slow them down:

We got some fun videos of this crew having a blast on the tube. What I didn't get was the awesome wipe out they took their final ride out - it was awesome! They hit a wave, bounced so high that it threw Sadie off backwards. Thank goodness no one was hurt but it looked cool!

Then it was Sadie's turn to learn how to ski:

Daniel gave her a quick lesson from the water & then she popped right up - her very first time:

She did so awesome & we were so proud of her!

Everyone took turns skiing then we anchored the boat just to hang out, jump in & swim for a bit:

This is finally when Sophie cheered up & started enjoying herself:

Then it was time to ski again and this time Bryan went:

We realized he hadn't gone since his senior year of college, which was 1999! But apparently it's like riding a bike, because he popped right up on his first try also:

The girls loved watching him also:

Finally we called it a day & headed back towards their house. My parents had driven up that afternoon so we all met up for dinner & then they surprised the kids with sparklers:

They weren't just any sparklers, they looked like swords!

At this point, Bryan, Sadie & I had to head home because she had a soccer tournament but we left Sophie for the weekend. Apparently she wasn't as nervous the 2nd day & spent most of the day with Zoe:

She had even more fun the 2nd day out & even got to learn how to drive the boat with Uncle Daniel:

When they came in from the lake, Kason gave her a ride on their tractor:

It was such a fun weekend! We thoroughly loved getting out of town & going out on the lake & it was a fun experience getting to do it with family. Thanks Clayton Crew for such a great time:
