Spring & e-learning seemed to linger on so how is it that we are already 2 weeks into summer?! I guess because we are having so much fun already! Last week, a few of the high school soccer girls planned a last minute soccer camp at our elementary school & the girls loved it!
Several of their friends came so they had a pretty good group:
On the last day, they gave awards & Sadie got Camper of the Week:
Probably not fair because she plays soccer for an academy team & most everyone else just plays recreationally but she was still excited!
Speaking of sports, since we don't have as much going on this summer, we are trying a few new sports. Most of the events at our church were cancelled, including VBS and as of now, we don't have a big vacation planned. So the girls are trying tennis:

They have a 1 hour lesson with a few friends once a week. So far, they love it!
Sadie got invited to join a softball team with mostly girls from her school so of course she loves that also:

Sophie had her final Girl Scout meeting of the year via zoom, but the next day the few that were comfortable met for snow cones:
Our church finally re-opened last Sunday & we were one of the first families to register! They did a great job maintaining socially distant protocols but it still felt so great to get back to normal. Afterwards, we finally went out to eat at our first restaurant also:
Granted we have picked up food, but this was our first time eating at a restaurant. We ate on the patio & again, it felt great! Our last meal out was in Hawaii over spring break.
Last weekend we had a garage sale & the girls thought it was so much fun! Who knew?! They had had fun helping me & running back & forth to our neighbor's houses who were having sales also:
Although this picture doesn't look like they had fun - this was at the end & it was hot & they were tired!
We also had a surprise visitor over the weekend. Sadie's BFF from kinder & 1st grade moved last summer & her family came back to visit so she came to stay with us. We met one of Sophie's friends & the girls swam:
Afterwards they both came home with us for a late over & sleepover:
This was the first time we have had company inside our house (besides family) in 3 months so it got a little crazy! The big girls stayed up until 2:00 am:
The next morning I surprised the girls & took them to get donuts in their pajamas:
I have to make a note - this is significant because you cannot find gluten free donuts anywhere. Except the frozen ones at the grocery store. I finally heard that Hurts Donuts makes gluten free donuts, but only on Monday mornings so Sadie was beyond excited to try them! Apparently it was good so at least we have a donut option for her these days.
Other than that, we have done a lot of this:
Isn't that sign adorable?! I got it for Christmas & was excited to finally use it. We had friends over every day to swim after soccer camp last week & we try to invite at least 1 family over every weekend:
This week our cousins from Colorado came back to visit so we had another pool party with them:
We don't get to see them often, but we sure enjoy every minute when we finally get back together!
Cheers to more sun & fun as summer goes on!
