Since the girls were little, we have been having Valentine tea parties at our house, but since they are both in school, this year I thought I would try something different. I had planned on hosting a Galentine's brunch at our house & then I realized that actual Valentine's day was on a Friday & the girls were out of school. So instead of planning a party just for the moms, I decided to do something for the girls again. But this time, not at our house, but here instead:
Bryan & the girls took me here last year for Mother's Day & I loved it! It is the cutest French restaurant & very girlie. I knew they had high tea & it's been on our bucket list for a while so we were excited to share the experience with a few friends:
A few of the boy siblings came too:
As soon as we got there, the girls were so excited to pass out their Valentine's to each other so it got a little crazy. One of their friends brought the cutest Num Noms & they were the hit of the party!
Before the food arrived, we tried to take pictures because they had a beautiful background:
We even had Sadie take a picture of the moms:
First round, drinks. The girls were offered chocolate milk, orange juice or hot raspberry tea. Sadie was excited to try the hot tea:
To be honest, I don't know if she drank any of it! She still had a full tea cup when we left :) Sophie ordered the chocolate milk & spilled most of it all over her dress as soon as she got it. Of course!
I think she was trying too hard to be fancy with her pinky up in the air!
One last group shot before the food arrived:
Did you see all the moms just relaxing back there?!
It might have gotten a little crazy with the kids, but honestly it is so much easier now that they are older!
Finally the food arrived! It was a fixed menu & the girls got to try a little bit of everything: peanut butter sandwiches, jelly sandwiches, ham & cheese croissants, fruit tarts, mini cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries & so much more! The trays were adorable & I was trying to take pictures but as soon as they put the food down, the kids were grabbing it!
The food looked so good I wanted to try it but we helped them until our food arrived:
Eventually we took our seats at our table & eagerly awaited our food presentation. We basically had the same thing but our food might have been a little bit fancier:
Instead of peanut butter, we had cucumber sandwiches. Instead of ham & cheese croissants, we had potato salad croissants. There might have been a few more veggies & salmon thrown into ours. Desserts were mostly the same including the scone & the fruit tart except we did not get the mini cupcakes so I might have stolen one from the kids table!
We had such a fun morning & I am so grateful so many of our friends were willing to meet us. Our private room was perfect & the food was delicious! It was the perfect way to enjoy their day off from school:
