For the past 2 years, Bryan has been coaching Sadie's basketball team with her friends from school and this year he decided to do the same thing for Sophie. She has been watching her sister play since then so she was so excited to play herself! We had our first practice right before the Thanksgiving break & one of the moms took this picture:
It cracks me up! Bryan was teaching them how to play defense & before he knew it, every single girl was jumping on top of him. Except for his own daughter! She just stood there. Clearly they were having a lot of fun!
Over the Thanksgiving break, both of the girls were excited to go to a free basketball clinic hosted by the Texas Legends:
Finally they had their first game this weekend. It was hilarious!!! I forgot how funny it is at this age when they don't know what they are doing. Ha ha! Sophie actually did really well & surprised us all:
Her team won 6-4 & she scored all 6 points! We were so unbelievably proud of her & all of her friends:
On Sunday afternoon, it was Sadie's turn. Her team had some turnover this year because half of the team decided to go club & play competitively so we had to start over & recruit a few more. Her game got pretty contentious because the refs weren't the greatest & they weren't calling everything but they did good & played hard. Sadie got to shoot a few free throws:
She scored 6 points also but they ended up losing 10-6. What a bummer! It was just fun seeing the girls in action again:
I have a feeling it's going to be a fun season with these 2 teams!
