Eight years ago today we were celebrating Christmas early with one of the best gifts of all - the birth of our oldest daughter, Sadie. Eight years! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. We celebrated all weekend with my mom & dad who came up to spend time with us. Sadie had a soccer tournament so that kicked off our Friday night:
She was so excited that her BFF guest played with our team :) She also had 2 soccer games on Saturday. At least she had her own cheering section:
We took a picture of her & Lena late Saturday night because they share a birthday & they were only hours away from it being their big day:
That afternoon/early evening before her final game, we grilled out steaks & made her a birthday dinner & surprised her with a birthday ice cream cake:
The next morning our elf Ellie helped me set up a surprise for Sadie:
We had cards, presents & her favorite breakfast - cinnamon rolls!
She got a few extra presents since Mimi & Doc were here but her big gift from us was a new bike!
She has been riding her little Frozen bike for years so she was so excited to finally get a big girl bike, especially since it was her favorite color!
We eventually got ready for church & Mimi braided both of their hair:
Thank goodness they have Mimi to braid their hair since I clearly can't!
After church, we had basketball but then we headed to lunch at Babe's per the birthday girl's request. She brought her slime, aka Elf's snot, to play with & they made her cluck like a chicken while they sang to her:
It was a busy, but fun weekend and I haven't even talked about both of their basketball games, our Christmas party, or hot chocolate with Santa!
We are so proud of Sadie & the young lady she has become. Happy birthday sweet girl!
