Earlier this month, Sophie got to go on her very first school field trip & I don't know what was more exciting - the field trip itself or the bus ride! Thankfully I got to chaperone so I rode to Dallas with some other moms & we met up with the kids at:
It was one of those mornings where everything was going wrong. We woke up & it was raining, traffic was horrible & the bus broke down. We ended up waiting for the kids for almost an hour before they finally got there:
Thankfully the rain eventually stopped before the kids got there so as soon as we saw them, we headed straight to pumpkin village:
Sophie loved the pumpkins & was asking for me to take a picture of every single pumpkin she picked up. I will admit - it is beautiful down there! I mean I love the flowers in the spring, but there is something special about all of the pumpkins in different colors & different shapes:
Eventually we headed to the Children's Garden where we had a picnic lunch & then we let them explore:
We ended the day in the classroom learning about the pumpkin life cycle. The kids made a pumpkin craft & then they got to plant a pumpkin seed:
Before we left, we took a few pictures with her class. This is their helper, Katie. She is a high school student but she helps out in their classroom a few times a week. Sophie absolutely loves her!
And somehow we lucked out & one of the moms is a photographer in our class so she got a few extra photos as well:
We had a great time despite the weather. I loved getting to meet the kids in her class & their moms as well. So thankful I got to tag along with this little cutie:
