Life Lately

Can you believe it's been 2 weeks since the girls have been back in school? Things have been going good so far & even though we are busier than our summer routine, it hasn't gotten too crazy yet. Sadie hasn't really had any homework yet except for a fun project. They came home with writing journals & were supposed to decorate the cover:

She came up with the idea all on her own & I think it fits her perfectly. She wanted all of her sports represented - basketball, soccer, swimming & volleyball with a little bit of bling. Of course she wanted a Longhorn & for some reason she is really into cheerleading. Might be because her sister is these days?!

I got a cute picture of Sophie at recess:

It's still pretty hot so I usually park across the street & walk up to get the girls after school but I surprised them one afternoon with their scooters so we rode home together:

Last weekend Sophie had a birthday party so Sadie got to go on a date with us:

She chose Babe's of course. That is always her favorite! Sophie had a blast at her party too, especially since it was mostly girls from her new class:

We also had our first get together with Sadie's new soccer team:

It was a pool party & there were so many people there & we were having so much fun, I took no pictures. It was really the first time we got to meet most of the parents so I'm glad they did it before the season kicks off:

Starting this weekend, I think we will be seeing these families a lot!

Finally, our school has a closed campus for the first 2 weeks for kindergarteners so we finally got to go have lunch with Sophie:

In case you are wondering why she is showing off her empty lunch box, that's because we have had a problem with her lunch habits. Unfortunately, she is feeling a little too independent because she has not been eating her lunch & she has been throwing it away :( So let's just say that I stopped sending much until today. I packed a full, normal lunch & she ate every bite since we were there. Guess we'll see how tomorrow goes......

It's kind of a pain, but there is a 30 minute break between the girls' lunches but I helped out in the library while I waited for Sadie:

This girl has never had a problem eating her lunch!

And that's life lately. A lot going on but not much to document. Might be a different story next week when all of our fall sports officially start!
