First Day of School - Kindergarten & 2nd Grade

Yesterday was a big day. Not only was it the first day back at school, but my youngest finally started kindergarten:

Can you believe it?! She has been eagerly waiting for this day for a while. Just like I did with Sadie, we had fun letting her pick out a new outfit for the first day. Of course she wanted a dress & she fell in love with this one because it was soft & it had a necklace that came with it :) My mom also treated the girls & bought them new backpacks & lunch boxes. Of course you can't see from the picture, but hers glow in the dark!

I mean look how cute & sassy she is!

Sadie usually doesn't like dresses much anymore but she found this camo outfit that she liked & of course she got a new backpack & lunch box also:

This year she decided she was too old for characters or prints on her backpack so chose an ombre glitter design instead:

I mean look at these 2 - they were ready to conquer the day:

Before they left the house, we surprised them with donuts. Another request of Sophie's!

Then it was time to head to school:

The girls were so excited when we saw Mrs. Nancy again:

Of course we took Sophie first:

Sadie helped show her how to hang her backpack, where to put your lunch box, etc. & then she headed in:

There was absolutely no hesitancy or tears - she found her seat right away & then got to work playing with play dough so we slipped out & headed to pod 2, where Sadie's class was:

We had a smooth morning! No one overslept, no one cried & everyone was happy:

Bryan headed to work & I stopped by the Boo Hoo Yahoo breakfast to visit with friends & meet some new parents:

My sweet husband took me to lunch & even surprised me with a  gift which I had no idea about! We really enjoyed our time away, especially since we didn't have to pay for a babysitter! I have a feeling there will be many more lunches in our future :) Before I knew it, it was time to head back to the school. They both walked out together & both said they had awesome days so I surprised them with an afternoon treat:

And when we got home, I asked for a few more pictures:

Remember my friend made these shirts for the girls & they got them when they graduated pre-school so I am excited to take pictures of them wearing them every year:

And that's a wrap! Summer is over, fall is officially here & I think we are all ready to get back on a routine/schedule. Here's to 2019-2020!
