July 4th 2019

Last year we invited friends over for the holiday & had so much fun, we barely saw the fireworks. This year, we decided why have a party at our house when we can go to the party in our neighborhood for free? That way dinner, games, entertainment & fireworks are provided & I don't have to do any of the work or clean any of it up :) Of course our neighborhood party didn't start until 6:30 that night so we invited a few neighbors over that afternoon for snacks & swimming. But before we jumped in the pool, we had a surprise for the kids:

Water balloon fight! Sadie bought 2 packages of water balloons at camp & she had been so excited to use them:

Then it was time to jump in the pool & even the parents jumped in! I hate to admit this was the first time all season I actually got in the water :)

This was also the first time our girls learned how to chicken fight & it was hilarious watching the kids crawl all over & dunk the dads:

Besides swimming, we enjoyed visiting & snacking all afternoon:

and then it was time to head to our neighborhood pool. They had lifeguards at the pool, bounce houses, water slides, a DJ, food & so much more. The kids ran around all night & I love that they are old enough to not worry about anymore. I did catch them getting glitter tattoos:

To be honest, I have no idea how many snow cones they had!

As you can see, they also passed out glow in the dark gear! Once it got dark, we headed over to the park to get settled in for fireworks:

Luckily we can see the City of Frisco fireworks from our neighborhood since we leave close to Toyota Stadium. They always do a great job & it was the perfect way to end our night. Until next year - Happy Birthday America!
