Hawaiian Falls 2019

The past couple of years, we have gone to Hawaiian Falls on the last night of VBS & it has been perfect. Our church rents out the park so it's not crowded & you know most of the families there. However, this year Sadie had a basketball game & we weren't able to go but we could still buy tickets for half off. So, I bought tickets & made plans with some friends to surprise the kids one day:

To say they were excited is an understatement! This was definitely an item on our summer bucket list they were excited to scratch off :) Since there were 4 moms, we took turns with the kids in the kids splash pad, lazy river, slides & wave pool:

We took a break to enjoy a picnic lunch together:

Of course we spent most of our time on the slides! We did every single one there - from the little kiddie ones to the big ones only Sadie would do:

Sophie is always a little timid so I had to bribe her to go on the tube slides with me because it was the first year she was tall enough. She cried the whole way but by the time we got to the bottom, she was smiling. By that afternoon, she was going on every slide she was tall enough for by herself or with friends! I was so proud of her:

Sadie never has any fear & wants to do everything! Actually, she started the day doing most but there were 2 slides she said she would wait on until she was older:

By the afternoon, she was singing a different song & had decided she was going to do the 2 she thought she was scared of. First up, the big yellow drop:

This one kind of scared me because it is so tall & she is so little! I was afraid she would fly off the slide but she loved it & rode it over several times. Finally, 10 minutes before it was time to leave, she worked up the courage to ride the Texas Torpedo:

Nobody ever rides this one so there is literally never a line. I had to walk up there with her because I think she was a little scared. You basically step into a tube & just stand there & when it's time, the floor opens up & you just drop. The sweet girl operating the slide let me come all the way with her because she was scared she would back out. Poor girl looked sick to her stomach as she waited:

But then she went & she loved it! So she rode it again & this time I got an awesome video of her from the bottom. I was so proud of her for being so brave! She kept asking why I wouldn't ride it with her but I told her I definitely wasn't as brave as I used to be!

But her favorite slide of the day was the Hawaiian Halfpipe. She convinced Tatum to ride it with her & they had so much fun they rode it at least 10 times:

They even convinced Jamie & I to do it with them :)

It was a fun day. The weather was perfect, it wasn't nearly as crowded as we thought it would be & the kids were all so brave! Plus it really makes it easier now that they are getting older. One more item checked off our summer bucket list until next year!
