Wild Oak Ranch

Several years ago we stayed at a resort in San Antonio right by Sea World & Fiesta Texas with my family & had a great time, so this year we headed to the same place. Although last time we stayed on the hotel side & this time we stayed on the residence side. They are literally right by each other & share a golf course. You can tell they have had a lot of rain this year too because the property was beautiful:

Our first morning there, we walked around & checked out the resort. They had lots of nature trails, swings, a putting green, fire pits, a play ground - the girls were excited just walking around:

Eventually we headed to the pool:

They actually had an indoor/outdoor pool with both an indoor & outdoor slide and a lazy river with a beach. The girls couldn't wait to try out the slides but unfortunately, Sophie wasn't tall enough so Sadie convinced Bryan to go along with her:

While they were checking out the slides, Sophie found the splash pad:

Then they played some volleyball:

and checked out the lazy river:

Then it was the moment the girls had been waiting for the entire trip - their cousins arrived! Natalie & her family drove up for the afternoon. We met them back at our room & we had a quick lunch:

before we took them down to the pool:

We were able to drag the kids away from the water so we could try something new - an escape room:

It wasn't an official escape room, but they had a little game set up for kids to be able to escape & they had fun. But as soon as it was over, we ran back to the water:

Later in the afternoon, Natalie & her family had to leave but Zoe got to stay the rest of the weekend with us! We took another break from the water to check out a special event in the kids club with live animals:

Sadie was the bravest of all when she volunteered to stand up front, close her eyes & then she was surprised with a snake:

That night, they had a block party where they served hot dogs & barbecue sandwiches outside by the fire pit:

Then they had a dance party! I don't know who had more fun dancing - me or the girls?!

Our favorite part of the evening was s'mores!

Before we headed back to our room for the evening, Bryan gave each of the girls a golf lesson. Ha!

He might have been taking it a little too seriously because all they wanted to do was play around :)

Finally we got these 3 settled down for the evening:

The next morning we woke up & did it all over again! Since I took pictures the first day, this time I left my phone behind so I could have fun with the girls. In fact, the only picture I have from our day in the water is this one when Bryan took a picture of the girls & I enjoying our smoothies together:

We stayed at the hotel again for dinner & afterwards the girls found this awesome tree house:

We couldn't help but make s'mores again one more time:

Then we ended our night in the lobby because Sadie had been begging Bryan to play checkers:

The next morning we packed up & headed home with Zoe along for the ride. And what's a road trip without a stop at Buc-ee's?!

It was a quick weekend get away, but a great way to kick off our summer! It was relaxing, we got to spend some quality time together & we checked off several items off our summer bucket list!
