Summer Send Off to San Antonio

Sadie officially got out of school last Thursday, so on Friday morning, we woke the girls up & surprised them with a road trip. We thought it would be a fun way to start summer by sneaking away for the weekend & we kicked it off with a stop at the donut shop on our way out of town:

When we got to San Antonio, we checked into our hotel & then headed to the Riverwalk. We have actually been there a few times with the girls but they were younger & of course they don't remember. We stopped for dinner first:

The girls saw these signs at the restaurant & asked to take their picture:

Next door to the restaurant, they had an ice cream shop with the same signs so of course we had to take more pictures:

After dinner we walked the river. The girls had fun crossing the bridges & watching the boats go by:

We even walked to the Alamo & Sadie was really into it. She hasn't learned that much about Texas history in school yet but she had fun walking around, asking questions & reading the fact signs:

We ended the night at one of my favorite places:

Kilwin's! We discovered this place in Michigan several years ago & have been to one in Florida & they have finally made their way to Texas. It's fun to sample all of the chocolate but we always end up with ice cream:

Ha! Don't you love that action shot Bryan took of his girls :) It was a fun night & I love that we can actually stay out later with the girls now that they are a little older. It was the only time we explored San Antonio because the rest of the weekend we were lazy & never left our resort. Next up, some fun in the sun!
