Buckle up friends because I have a lot to blog about. It has been a busy month & I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. First up:
Last Thursday Sophie officially graduated from pre-school! After 4 years at Sonshine Academy she is ready to move on. I mean look at her smiling in the pomp & circumstance - she couldn't have been more excited:
She had her own little cheering section in the audience. Unfortunately my parents couldn't come, but most of Bryan's family was there, even 2 of her cousins visiting all the way from Colorado:
Even Kenzie was there:
Ok, she might have been cheering for her brother but they were both so excited to skip school & come support their little siblings :)
I mean look at these kiddos:
Can you see her in the middle?! They performed a couple of songs first & there is always 1 song that gets me every time. I mean look how sweet they are when they grab hands:
Finally it was her big moment when they called her name & she walked across the stage to receive her diploma:
She was so proud! And she was even more excited after it was over because Sadie & Daddy brought her flowers:
Then it was picture time! Not like I hadn't taken enough pictures already, but of course we all wanted to take pictures with her. Friends & family:
We have an awesome picture of the girls throwing their caps afterwards so we tried to recreate that moment with their younger siblings but it was a lot harder the second time around:
I couldn't help but get a picture of the moms too because honestly, this is where our friendship started. Thank you Sonshine for bringing our families together!
After the ceremony, we got invited to the gym for the reception with cake & punch:
We saw a few more friends:
Don't know how we missed Hayden & Jamie in the auditorium :(
Then we celebrated. With cake!
We saw Mrs. Johnson one more time before we finally left:
It was such a sweet afternoon. Really bittersweet. We have been at Sonshine for 6 years so a part of me is sad to say goodbye after all of the teachers who have loved on both of our kids through the years & all of the friends we have made. But she is so confident & excited for kindergarten so it makes me happy knowing that she is ready for the next phase of her life:
