In the midst of our trips earlier this month, we also had something else going on - girl scout cookies! I am the troop cookie manager for Sadie's troop again & this year cookie season began on the 2 days I had home between the cruise & Aruba. It was a busy couple of days! Thankfully Bryan has a big car because I was able to pick up the cookies myself this year instead of asking for help:
I went on Friday while Sadie was at school so I had another littler helper waiting for me when I got home:
Sophie was so excited! You would think she is a girl scout too!! She helped me unload every single box & sort them:
Then later that night, we had some older sisters from the troop come help me sort & pack up the deliveries for the girls. It was a win-win because I needed help & they needed volunteer hours :) Last year Sadie sold a little over 50 so this year we decided to try & double our number to 100:
That was her pile of cookies. It doesn't look like much but honestly, it's kind of intimidating. We have so many girls in our neighborhood that sale & most everyone in our social sphere sells also, so besides families, it's kind of hard. I had to turn around & leave the next day so we facetimed all of our family right away to give them first pick:
And while we were gone, Grammy took her to make her deliveries:
By the time I got home 1 week later, she was kind of over it. She was so excited the weekend before but I've had a hard time motivating her to sale in the past week. It doesn't help that by the time I got back, I feel like everyone has already bought from someone else. But she has sold most of them & we only have a few boxes left, so if you are interested in purchasing any, please let me know. And since I'm troop cookie manager, I have the troop's inventory at my house also :)
I have a feeling this may be Sadie's last year selling cookies, but I am hoping Sophie can put her experience to use next year if her grade starts a troop also.
