Our first stop on our cruise was in Cozumel, Mexico:
When we were planning this trip months ago & looking at excursions, someone asked if our children had swam with the dolphins before. Bryan & I have done that, but the girls never had so I knew it would be a fun adventure with their friends.
When we left Galveston is was rainy & cold so thankfully by the time we made it to Mexico, it was sunny & hot outside. It felt great to get off the boat:
Somehow we all shoved in to a cab:
and made the short trip over to:
I was really impressed with this facility. It is a dolphin habitat right off the ocean & it was very clean. The kids were so excited when we walked in & they saw the dolphins:
You could even see our boat in the background:
Our group of 12 was able to stay together in one pool for our experience. We ended up not doing the swim package which was a good thing because most of the kids were a little skiddish in the water. But we all got in the water, touched them, hugged them, kissed them & danced with them. It was the perfect experience for their age group. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let us have our camera :( So I have absolutely no pictures of our experience. They had someone taking pictures but they were $40 per picture & I just refused to pay that much.
After our experience in the water, we went to the bar & had drinks:
Then we spent some extra time in the water. They had a cove where you could snorkel:
and we all took turns kayaking in the ocean:
Of course Sophie didn't want to kayak so we stayed on the platform & took pictures of everyone else:
Again, you could see our ship in the background:
Before we left, we headed upstairs to their restaurant & had lunch while enjoying the view:
As we were leaving, I had to snap a picture of Sophie & Gavin because they were walking around holding hands. Adorable:
We had a few hours left on land so we headed into town to walk around & shop:
There was a balloon artist at one of the restaurant bars & the kids went crazy:
As soon as we got back on the boat, they confiscated their balloons :(
We couldn't help but laugh the whole time we were on land because everything was decorated for Christmas with cheesy decorations & Christmas music was blaring:
We didn't shop long because no one really wanted anything & the weather was so awesome we decided to go back to the boat & enjoy the water activities on board:
Apparently we had so much fun in Cozumel that while Bryan & I were getting ready, Sophie passed out:
That's always a sign of a good time.
