Christmas Eve 2018

This year Christmas was at our house & my family got here Sunday night so we woke up Monday morning ready to celebrate! The kids were so excited to be together. And we lucked out because it was great weather so they spent most of the time outside playing. In fact, that afternoon, all of us took a break & went for a walk on the trails:

The kids took turns riding bikes, scooters, pushing Max in the stroller & walking Mocha. Of course we stopped a few times to explore nature:

We needed some fresh air & exercise because we did a lot of eating in our 2 days together! We made a lot of snacks, appetizers, desserts & so much more:

I had Christmas placemats for the kids so they had fun working on them all day:

The girls spent a lot of time doing their special handshakes. We took a couple of videos because it was fun watching them:

After dinner we made Christmas cookies. Definitely a family tradition:

My sister took the next set of pictures. I can't believe she took them on her iPhone but she definitely has a more creative eye than me! We let the kids pick their favorite cookie to leave out for Santa & then the rest we got to eat :)

Then it was time to get the kids cleaned up & ready for bed. We let them open a few gifts that night:

Before we headed outside to feed the reindeer:

My mom bought these fun glasses for the kids so of course we had to take a picture before we headed to bed:

There was a little debate before we went to bed because Sophie wanted to have a slumber party but Sadie was worried because it was already late & she wanted to be asleep before Santa got there. Thankfully all of the kids were pretty tired from playing all day so we ended up separating them all & they all crashed:

While they were fast asleep, we ended up opening presents with all of the adults. It was kind of nice to spread out all of the gifts since there were so many of them:

Then it was sweet dream for the rest of us so Santa could visit:
