End of Summer Road Trip

Well, we just thought we were home for summer. The girls got invited to their cousin's birthday party & since we had no plans, I had told them we would go on a quick road trip to Austin. Then I had something come up & knew I couldn't make it, so my sweet parents drove to Waco to pick them up & take them. We decided to meet for lunch before I headed home so of course we had to try the newest restaurant in town:

I mean come on, even if you don't watch HGTV, I am sure everyone knows who Chip & Joanna is! My parents got there about 15 minutes before us, so my mom stood in line to put our name on the list. Thank goodness they had a tent so she could stand in the shade:

Seriously, there was a long line just to put your name on the list. It was definitely hot & we had to wait for 1 1/2 hours, but they had a gift shop, an outdoor bakery, several shaded areas to sit & a children's area to play:

Finally it was our turn & we got to go inside. Thank goodness everyone there was also tourist because I think we were all walking around taking pictures of everything:

The menu looked so good - my kind of breakfast & lunch favorites. In fact, I had a hard time deciding but most of us ended up ordering breakfast:

Guess I'll have to go back to try lunch & dessert! It is clear to say that is well worth the wait. Even Sadie said so! Too bad Bryan missed out:

So from here, I drove home & the 4 of them headed to Austin. Zoe's mermaid birthday party was that night & apparently it was fabulous! I have seen so many cute pictures & heard all about it, but I am sure Natalie will blog on that, so I will just share a sneak peak:

I am so glad they are so close! After the party, the girls went back to their house to spend the night & Mimi surprised them with matching pajamas:

Then they made themselves comfortable on the floor for a slumber party that night:

Unfortunately, it was a quick trip because the girls had to head home the next day but luckily they made one last stop on their way home:

Buc-ees! Who knew that a gas station could be so popular?! They even got spoiled by their grandparents at a pit stop on their way home. I know it was a quick trip, but from what I hear, they had an awesome time! Thank you Mimi & Doc for taking them on one last summer adventure!
