Every spring, Sadie's school has their annual carnival & even though we have never been, we had heard it was their most anticipated event. Our plans were to go to soccer practice & then head straight to the carnival, but you know spring weather & it did not cooperate :( Sadie's practice got interrupted & we rushed home because the weather turned quickly. We made it home just in time for a huge storm blew in. High wind, hail & lots of rain in a short amount of time. Luckily, it blew through quickly & then moved on. Oddly enough, 30 minutes later, the sun was back out so we headed up to the carnival. Unfortunately, they had to take down most of the bounce houses & obstacle courses, but they were able to leave a few of the big items up outside. We headed out there first before the lines got too long. Sadie wanted to rock climb but Sophie was not interested:
She only made it up about half way but she kept slipping since it was wet. While she was climbing, Bryan & Sophie stood in line for the trampolines:
Sophie was a little timid at first, but eventually she warmed up & had fun jumping. Sadie on the other hand dominated it & even threw in a couple of back flips:
While still outside, we hit up the midway & played a few games with KJ & Kenzie:
Then we headed to the front of the school where we had hamburgers & snow cones. Thank goodness the weather cleared up because it ended up being a really nice evening! We saw a ton of friends & the girls had fun running around with everyone:
We also found some cute photo props that everyone had fun taking pictures in:
We spent the rest of the evening inside where the bake sale & silent auction was:
We spent $20 on goodies at the bake sale. I couldn't help but laugh & shake my head when I got home & realized what we all picked out:
I can't blame this on the girls because Bryan & I like sweets just as much as they do! For the last 10 minutes, we spent time circling the silent auction trying to secure our bids. Somehow Sadie won a water balloon fight with her teacher & I won a gift certificate to a local company here in town:
Bryan got in a bidding war to win principal for a day but he lost at the last minute. But overall, we had a great time! The storm definitely delayed the carnival & made a few of our plans change, but at least we were still able to have it. We are already looking forward to next year!
