Life Lately

Besides our anniversary, this has been a normal week. Play dates, soccer practice, swimming lessons, dance, GA's, Cubbies & school. Of course I got pictures of none of that. But I did take a picture of the beautiful flowers Bryan had delivered on the actual day of our anniversary:

I don't think you can really tell from the picture but they are huge! I almost dropped them because they were so big & heavy. We celebrated last weekend since Tuesday was kind of a normal day for us. I did cook one of his favorite meals & then we watched our wedding video with the girls. I love doing this every year! Oh yeah, how can I forget to show you the anniversary dinner the girls prepared for us:

Pizza & cake! And Sophie decorated the table. Nothing says romantic like insects, frogs & dinosaurs everywhere!

Look what other surprise I found in the backyard this week:

Duck eggs. Again. For the 3rd year in a row :( Every year I have to disrupt this little nest & scare off the ducks & yet he still comes back every spring. He likes to build his little nest in the back right by the pool.

While Bryan was out of town this week, I let the girls have dinner & a movie upstairs in the media room:

We don't do this as often as we should so when I do, they love it!

And finally, we spent a lot of time working on Sadie's derby car this week. Our soccer games were cancelled last Saturday (AGAIN) so since we were stuck at home with rainy & cool weather, Bryan spent the morning with Sadie painting her car:

Sophie got a little jealous so I got something out for her to paint also:

They worked on the car in stages over several days because they had to sand, paint several coats, decorate, seal & then she decorated with a few decals:

She was very specific with her design & it was all her idea. She wanted an orange car with a white longhorn on the front, a Texas flag, lightening bolts & the number 6, since that is her sports number for basketball & soccer. It definitely looks different than most of the other girl cars who decorated with glitter, sea shells & unicorn themes!

They are having a pinewood derby car race at GA's next week with all the girls so we will see how she does. I know the 2 of them had fun working together & we are excited for the big race!
