It's hard to imagine that it is already April & Easter has passed. Too bad the weather hasn't figured out it is spring yet! We had beautiful weather Friday & Saturday, then it was overcast & cooler on Easter Sunday. Today is even worse. I wish it would get warm & stay warm! Luckily we took advantage of the nice weather. We spent most of our time on Friday & Saturday working around the house outside. Cleaning off the back porch, working in the yard & cleaning out both garages. Thank goodness my parents came to visit this weekend because the girls got to spend some extra time with them while we got work done. In fact, Bryan surprised them & heated the pool so they got to swim Friday night after soccer practice & Saturday afternoon after their game:
We ended up having some friends come over on Friday night so the girls were excited. I feel like the backyard & the pool are officially open for the season now! I don't think we will heat the pool much more but we will definitely start spending more time in the hot tub now that it is warming up outside.
Saturday morning the girls had early soccer games:
I love this picture of Sadie & Tatum practicing with their little sisters :)
The girls had their own cheering section since both sets of grandparents were there:
Unfortunately, the other team didn't show up for Sadie's game so they forfeited which means an automatic win for us, but I hate that my parents drove up & then didn't get to watch her play. Instead, we went to brunch & shared the pancake sampler:
We chose the cinnamon roll, the oreo & the Elvis & yes, they were all 3 good!
When we got home, Bryan & I hid confetti eggs:
This is the first time we have done confetti eggs so I was excited to surprise the girls. I decided to hide them in the front because it was really windy & I didn't want confetti blowing in the pool. Sadie cracked the first egg she picked up because she didn't know it was so delicate. Afterwards, we took turns cracking them on each other:
Sadie thought it was fun & wanted to crack them on her own head but Sophie didn't want to get hurt or dirty. No surprise there!
That afternoon my parents swam with the girls while we finished cleaning out the garages & then my parents spent the evening with them while we went out. They gave the girls their Easter present:
they baked Easter cupcakes:
and got their nails painted. Sounds like they had a fun night! We met up with friends for dinner. Nat & I both celebrated birthdays this past week:
We haven't seen them since we went sailing with them last July so we had a lot to catch up on! After dinner we went out & enjoyed a fun night out with no kids:
It was a great weekend. We got a lot of work done around the house, spent time with the girls, got to go out with friends & we spent extra time with my parents. And that doesn't even include what we did on Easter Sunday! I'll do a separate post about that tomorrow.
