Easter at Sonshine Academy 2018

Luckily Sophie's class had their Easter activities at school last week when it was beautiful weather because it has been raining this week. We got to go up there around lunch time to see her class participate in their Easter egg hunt:

They got to grab eggs until they counted 12 in their basket. Then they got to take turns taking class pictures with the Easter Bunny:

Afterwards, we went inside for their class party. They surprised them with flashlights & they walked into their dark classroom & tried to find the tomb where Jesus was buried:

Next up, snack time where they got to decorate an Easter cookie:

I was visiting with another parent when I heard someone say "I'm not sure if she is supposed to be doing that....." Of course I knew it had to be Sophie & as soon as I turned around, I found her licking the tube of icing:

Not only does she not need to eat that much sugar, but it was also the community tube that all the kids were supposed to be using :( Nothing surprises me with Sophie!

After their party, we went to the auditorium for the Easter performance. Poor Sophie is so tall she is always on the back row. She had fun & Bryan got some great videos while I tried to catch a few snap shots:

Poor girl, if you notice, especially in the last 2 pictures, she is always a step behind. Everyone else had already done the hand motion & moved on with the song by the time she figures out she is supposed to be doing it! But she had fun & afterwards she acted shy & just wanted Bryan to hold her while we all tried to get pictures with her:

We've had lot of practice hunts over the past few weeks & collected quite a few eggs:

But guess they are getting ready for the big day this weekend. We are looking forward to spending time with family & hope the weather cooperates for the Easter Bunny.
