Ok, where should we start. We've had a lot of fun this week! One of my new year resolutions for the girls was to invite more friends over for play dates. We got so busy in the fall leading up to the holidays so I promised the girls we would play more. I started with Sophie. We have a pretty regular schedule during the week while Sadie is at school, but I specifically left Fridays open for fun. Last Friday was our first play date at Nora's house & I think I had just as much fun visiting with the moms as she did playing:
And once a week I told Sadie she could invite someone new over after school. Last week we had Hadley over:
They have quickly become BFF's at school. They are in class together, in girl scouts together & they play basketball together.
This week she had Janelle over:
They are in class together also & she is always so great with Sophie!
Since Sophie turned 4, she has been invited to a lot of birthday parties this year. Last weekend her friend from school had a princess party and the girls were so excited when Elsa & Anna stopped by:
Sophie was so excited that she got to wear Sadie's "fancy" Elsa dress!
Speaking of Sophie, my friend sent me this picture the other day:
She said it is always so funny watching Sophie in car lane every morning at pre-school. Apparently she is always hanging out the window waving & smiling at everyone like she is in a parade :)
We took our neighbor, Bentley, home from school yesterday:
Another reminder that I need a bigger car since we are starting to carpool more!
It has been freezing this week because we had another cold front blow through so it was perfect timing to have pajama day at school:
At Sadie's last girl scout meeting, Lena took pictures & shared them with us since the moms usually drop them off or hang out somewhere separately:
They are fortunate to have the daughter of our school nurse in our group so she came & had a health clinic with the girls. It was so cute hearing them talk about taking care of their stuffed animals!
Sadie also had big news from her basketball game last week - she scored her first basket! She actually made a regular basket & she made 2 free throws, so she scored 4 points:
She was so excited & has talked about it all week. She is really liking basketball!
Finally, the girls got out their sleeping bags & had a couple of slumber parties last weekend & it was the first time they had slumber parties with their babies in their new sleeping bags:
Thanks Grammy for their American Girl Christmas gifts!
It's not a holiday weekend, but we are still looking forward to a few days off.
