I love our little life, especially now that it has slowed down & we are back on a schedule. Last weekend, basketball started up again after a 3 week break. They had practice Friday night, followed by pictures & a game on Saturday. This is not their official picture, but more the one I tried to sneak while the photographer was taking one:
On Sunday, we went to lunch after church at a new Mexican restaurant & the food was good but the service was slow & somehow the girls both ended up in Bryan's lap:
Monday was the 80th day of school so they were supposed to dress in 80's attire. I had shown Sadie a bunch of pictures & somehow she thought 80's meant just dress crazy:
We didn't have leg warmers so she wore crazy tights instead. At least she rocked her side pony tail with the headband! Of course her hair didn't look as good as her teacher:
Can you see that Slash wig in the background?! She looked awesome!
After school, Sadie went back to swimming lessons:
Sophie still goes weekly but Sadie hasn't been since last spring. Technically she is a great swimmer & I hadn't planned on doing lessons again since she is in school, but we decided to let her try out for the summer swim team & try outs are in February, so we put her in a few lessons this month to practice her strokes. She was SOOOO excited to be back in the water :)
Bryan & I had a date night with friends at a new steakhouse:
I don't know if you can really see the bones they are holding? They all ordered the tomahawk chop & it was huge! We had a great night out trying a new restaurant, visiting with friends & celebrating David's birthday:
Finally, Sadie had her well check this week for her 6th birthday:
I know we are about a month behind schedule. One year her appointment got delayed for some reason & now due to insurance reasons, we always have to wait until January & it is so annoying. Unlike Sophie, she patiently sat there & took her vitals, hearing test & vision test very easily:
Sophie wouldn't even let them attempt the hearing test. But in her defense, she had to get 2 shots & luckily Sadie walked away without any. So, I forgot to post Sophie's stats last time so here they both are so you can compare:
Sadie:
Height: 44.5", 33%
Weight: 48 lbs., 65%
Sophie:
Height: 41.5", 86%
Weight: 36 lbs., 58%
Basically sums up what I already know - both of our girls love to eat. We have never struggled with that. In fact, our doctor actually said she could tell Sadie was pretty muscular for her age & could tell she was in good shape when she listened to her heartbeat. But Sadie has always been shorter. You can't really tell by looking at her compared to her classmates, but I can tell in the way her clothes fit her. And Sophie is the tallest out of everyone - boys & girls! She is quickly catching up & will probably pass Sadie eventually. I have the opposite problem with clothes for her! But most importantly, both of them are healthy young girls :)
