On Wednesday, our last full day on vacation, I had some other fun activities planned for us. I was hoping we could experience different activities in the snow since the girls hadn't before. Unfortunately, there was no snow mobiling or sleigh rides since there wasn't enough snow, but we could go tubing:
They had a tubing park called Gorgoza Park that had 7 different tubing lanes. 3 Smaller ones & 4 larger ones:
We bought a 2 hour pass & went first thing in the morning when it opened to beat the crowd. We might have fibbed on Sophie's age so she could have a big tube & ride everything :) Technically you have to be 5 to go up high to the big lanes, but she is pretty tall for her age so no one questioned us. They also had an area for kids 5 & under called Fort Frosty that Sophie liked:
She loved it & it was really low key, but we dragged her to the big slides. She may have been a little scared but she still had fun & never cried. She might have liked going up better than going down. They had a magic carpet ride for the lower slides & then a tube lift for the upper slides:
We kept taking turns going down by ourselves, with each other & as a family. We also kept rotating how we road, whether on our belly or on our back:
We had a fun morning & it's safe to say that everyone loved tubing & we would totally go again!
After lunch, we headed to Park City Mountain, which is the other ski resort we contemplated going to. I am glad we went to check it out since they skied the Olympics here, but it was so crowded. You can definitely tell a difference when there are snow boarders around:
They had a roller coaster on the side of the mountain called the Alpine Coaster. Sadie loves roller coasters so I thought this would be a fun surprise for her:
Both of the girls were tall enough to ride, but not by themselves, so they rode in our laps. Sophie wasn't exactly thrilled about going, but by now she is used to being the 2nd child & being dragged along. Sorry Sophie! She never cried, but she was definitely scared:
The rest of us loved the ride & would totally do it again!
Next up, the Flying Eagle. They have a zip line that shoots you up the side of the mountain, above the skiers to the top & then back down. Who knew Sophie would LOVE this?!
Can you see them? They are hanging in the air way up there! Out of everything we did, this was Sophie's favorite thing of the week:
After being out there a couple of hours, it was freezing because a cold front was blowing in & before we left, it started snowing. The girls were really excited to see it snowing before we left:
When we got back to our hotel, we warmed up by the fire & played some more games in the lobby:
And then we headed back outside for happy hour. They had big fire pits by the back patio where they made s'mores every evening:
Who are we kidding - we all love s'mores in this family!
Overall, we had a great time on vacation! I think we are still a beach family & prefer the warm weather, but this was the perfect trip to do the week of Christmas. Of course they loved skiing & playing in the snow, but it was fun seeing everything decorated with Christmas lights. And we spent a lot of time together cooped up at the hotel, which I loved. We literally slept in everyday & then went to breakfast in our Christmas pajamas every morning. We played a lot of games hanging out in the lobby or making s'mores. And we ate an early dinner at the hotel every night & were back in our room by 7:00, cuddled up in our Christmas pajamas again watching Christmas movies. It was a low key family week, which is exactly what we needed after the chaos of a busy month. We came home relaxed & ready to celebrate Christmas with the rest of the family. And when we woke up on Thursday morning, we were all excited to see a beautiful snowfall before we flew home:
