When I picked up Sadie from school yesterday, it was raining. In fact, the forecast for Halloween night looked horrible so we had back up plans in case the weather did not cooperate. But somehow we lucked out & by the time we went outside, it was beautiful! The rain had moved out & it was just chilly outside. We had to add an extra layer to their Halloween outfits but I think they still look cute:
Somehow this was only the 2nd time for Sadie to wear her Pocahontas outfit but Sophie has worn her outfit all month! Of course I asked to take a few pictures & they were cracking me up with all of their poses:
Of course we needed 1 family picture, right?!
In years past we always headed to the street behind us for a block party but they had it over the weekend so our street decided to have our own block party this year:
It's always fun to eat pizza, let the kids play & visit before we all head off to trick or treat together. Somehow the kids snuck off early this year so we didn't get our big group picture of the kids like we normally do, but I got a few while they were playing:
Sadie took off to trick or treat with the big girls:
while Sophie & Bryan walked with Kenzie & KJ:
I headed back to the house to pass out candy with this guy:
When Sadie made it back around to our house, she got jealous when she found out Sophie was with Kenzie, so I helped her find them & then she spent the rest of the night trick or treating with them:
By the way, take a look at our jack o lantern on display - turned out pretty cute, right?!
My absolute favorite house was one of our neighbors. We have a lot of inflatables in the neighborhood, but I loved the way they had this one on display. It was too cute not to use it as a photo booth:
Eventually Bryan & the girls found their way back to the house where I was still passing out candy with Bob:
All of the kids loved our skeleton & one of the girls asked what his name was & since I didn't have one, she named him Bob so it kind of stuck for the night! Oh yeah, she also name the skeleton dog Maggie. Bryan put Sophie to bed first & we let Sadie stay up a little later & help me pass out candy. She was beyond excited when one of her classmates, Brighton, came to our house:
Did you notice our jack o lantern again? I really love seeing them flickering at night!
It was a perfect night! The rain held off, we had a great crowd of kids & we actually had the perfect amount of candy. I usually have some left over because I buy too much but this year we actually gave it all away. Until the girls came home with their stash!
The next day our crossing guard Nancy was dressed up for Halloween & passing out candy:
She was so disappointed that it was raining on Halloween so she celebrated a day late & the kids loved it! In fact, my kids loved it so much that when they got home from school, they dumped their Halloween bags so they could go through their candy stash again:
I'm pretty sure we have enough to last until next Halloween!
