We started our weekend early Friday morning by attending Good Morning Pink. Sadie was ecstatic we were there because she was the line leader for the week:
You know who else was there? Super Girl!
We went straight home from GMP to host a Halloween party for Sophie & her friends. I will post a separate blog about that because there were a lot of people & a lot of pictures :)
Later that afternoon, the girls went to their final soccer practice but Sophie didn't feel good at practice & as soon as she got home, she started getting sick. And she continued to get sick 6 times over the next couple of hours. Let's just say it was a long night.
The next morning was the annual Gary Burns Fun Run which is a fundraiser for Frisco Education Foundation. We run it every year, but since Sophie was sick, I stayed home & let her sleep while Bryan & Sadie went:
To be honest, I might be glad I stayed home because it was 37 outside. That was totally unexpected for Texas before Halloween! We had been telling Sadie that she could run the 1 mile by herself, so she was pretty excited. When they got there, they saw some friends, so she ended up running with Whitney:
Bryan didn't clock her time, but he did say they were one of the first to finish:
Next up was the 5k run for Bryan:
I think he clocked one of his fastest times ever! Gotta love the cold weather for running :) I am bummed Sophie & I missed out but it seems these 2 had a good time even though it was cold outside:
Luckily the girls' soccer games weren't until the afternoon so they got to come home & warm up while we watched the Texas football game. This was our last weekend for soccer, so after Sadie's game, her team had an impromptu party with cupcakes & trophies:
Since it had been 24 hours & Sophie was feeling better, we let her go watch Sadie play. I figure she was ok just sitting in my lap but during the game she got all kinds of energy & really started cheering for Sadie's team so we figured she was fine for her game. Sure enough, she played great! So afterwards we went out to eat to celebrate her team:
Bryan passed our trophies, we ate dinner, visited & then had soccer cupcakes. Sophie was SO excited to get her very own trophy:
In fact, all of them were!
Even the big kids had fun at their own table:
We were actually invited to 2 Halloween parties that night, but it was so cold, I hadn't felt well for a couple of days & since we had such a long night with Sophie the night before, we figured we all needed a good night's sleep. Good thing, because the next day was even worse. For some reason, Sophie didn't feel good & was extra tired. We got called out of class to come pick her up at church & when we came home, she took a 5 hour nap. Very strange. Sadie went to a birthday party with some of her friends:
After this picture was taken, Sadie started vomiting in the car. Someone else's car. We all thought we had escaped the stomach bug that Sophie had, but apparently it caught up with us. I ended up picking Sadie up & she was sick all night. And then I got sick, so poor Bryan was up all night taking care of everything. And then we missed 2 more Halloween parties on Sunday night. Thank goodness we are all feeling much better today but Sadie couldn't go to school so we are all hanging out at home. Catching up on rest, watching movies & doing a TON of laundry!
Sadie's class is having a costume party after school, so unfortunately she will miss that also, but I am hopeful we will all be better for Halloween tomorrow!
