I keep thinking I will stop taking pictures now that we are settled in to our new fall routine, but it seems we keep having firsts! And I just can't help but take pictures & share them all. Even if no one else looks but the grandparents, I know they will appreciate them!
I checked Bryan's phone this morning & found a cute selfie of us in front of the tower last weekend:
He was also taking a video of Sophie as she walked into school on Tuesday for the first time & he got a few pictures as well. In the past we would drop them off & their teacher would take all of their stuff. This year they are old enough to walk in, unpack their backpacks & put everything where it belongs. For instance their towel, their lunch box & the folder:
That night we had our last bunco of the season:
The theme was football & fall y'all! We all wore tshirts for our favorite football team & had tailgate nachos with pumpkin pie.
The next day Sophie had dance & again, she said take a picture of me mom - with all my friends!
I actually left dance early to go have lunch with Sadie, so Bryan got to come watch Sophie for the first time & then he took her home. Sadie's school wanted us to wait & not visit the campus until after Labor Day so everyone could adjust without parent's around, so I was happy to finally go! She said she didn't want me to bring her anything because she wanted to show me how she can buy her lunch in the cafeteria:
We saw several of her friends:
This is the table where she normally sits with her classmates:
But when guests come, you get to sit at the visitor table on the side:
I had such a good time! I loved meeting some of her new friends & seeing how things operate around there :)
That afternoon, Sophie was playing dress up & she wanted to wear Belle to go pick Sadie up. She had so many compliments on the walk to school! Lena was walking with Kenzie & KJ so I let Sadie walk home with them:
That night our fall Wednesday night activities started at the church so the girls went to Cubbies & GA's for the first time & they loved it:
On Thursday, Lena went to lunch & apparently Sadie kept popping by their table & talking to them:
I think both of the girls love having their moms up there!
After school, we met up with about 10 other kids at the play ground for a play date. I was so busy visiting & meeting new moms that I didn't take pictures. But from there we went to Sweet Frog where Pink was having a spirit night:
The place was packed with students & parents from Pink while the teachers served their frozen yogurt & toppings. I think the girls may have found a new favorite spot!
Finally, we got to attend our first Good Morning Pink! It's kind of like a big pep rally that the school does on Friday mornings. Twice a month they have it & the parents are invited. They have announcements, they say the pledge of allegiance, they sing the National Anthem & their school song. The kindergarteners sat in the front. Can you spot Kenzie & Sadie?
Believe me, there were a lot of kids in the cafeteria & it got really loud! You can tell the older kids knew what to expect & were really getting in to it with yelling, dancing, etc. The kindergarteners sat there on their bottoms, raised their hands & some even cried! It was kind of funny watching! Today the Griffin Middle School band was there to perform:
And they had a special visit from Rowdy, the Dallas Cowboys Mascot:
Sophie had fun getting to join the action:
Today's assembly went longer than normal. I had planned on going to a class at the gym at 9:30 & we were just leaving the school around that time but the kids had a blast. I was able to catch a pic of Sadie high fiving Bryan as her class left:
Sadie was in for another surprise when Grammy & Grandpa surprised her at school:
Today was grandparent's day at school & they were invited to eat lunch with them. I haven't talked to Sadie yet, but from what I can see, they brought her Chick Fil A & cupcakes:
What a fun & busy week! Now we are ready for the weekend. It will be our first weekend with both of them having soccer games tomorrow. Can't wait to see how the Sweet Cleats & Twinkle Toes do!
