Weekend Wrap Up

Sadie's weekend started on Friday morning when she realized it was her last day of school. I think she was actually disappointed it was time for the weekend! They had their first Good Morning Pink assembly that morning & she loved it:

They are kind of like little pep rallies & usually the parents are invited but the first one for students only. She also wore her Pink spirit shirt for the first time & she was excited about that. We also got a picture of their class sharing science:

She had the best week at school but I was ready for our first weekend. The temperature is unseasonably cool this time of year so we came home that afternoon & played outside with our neighbors. Amy & Lacey were shucking corn & getting ready for dinner that night & I realized at one point that all of our children were spending more time helping them then actually playing:

Friday night Sophie had her first soccer practice. Let me introduce you to the Twinkle Toes:

There are 7 girls on the team & 5 of them we already knew. Most are younger siblings to Sadie's friends. And guess who is their coach? Bryan is stepping up to lead them so guess we'll see how that goes! The girls actually did great for their first practice, better than Sadie's team at that age. There were no tears & everyone actually stayed on the field & participated:

We are really excited for Sophie's new adventure & curious to see if she likes soccer as much as Sadie does. Here is a picture of their first team huddle before we left:

Afterwards we went out to eat with one of the families & the girls had a lot of fun playing with their new friend. I am really excited we are finally branching out & meeting more families & becoming more involved around Sophie since it's always been about Sadie. 

The next morning The Sweet Cleats had practice. 7 of the same girls came back & this is their 3rd year playing together. They got 1 new girl on their team but it's a friend we go to church with so that made it an easy transition. This was the first time Sadie got to wear her new sports goggles & she was pumped because her best friend Kenzie has to wear them too:

We had big plans to come back to the house with friends to cook out & swim all afternoon but the weather did not cooperate. As soon as practice was over, it started raining. We may not be in Hurricane Harvey's direct path, we are definitely feeling the outer bands with cooler temperatures & spotty rain showers. I'm loving the cooler temps but hate that we can't spend our last weekends of summer in the pool.

On Sunday we had lunch out with our Life Group:

This if a favorite of the girls. They absolutely love hanging out with the big girls :) And that night we stayed in & had game night:

I think Sadie was excited to get to bed so she could wake up & start a new week at school. Hopefully this week will be even better now that we are used to our new routine :)
