As soon as we got home from vacation, Sadie had sports camp:
She went at our church & it was for kids entering kindergarten through 5th grade. She has really started doing more with older kids this summer since she is starting elementary school & she loves being around them! Her group was:
They got to play different sports every day including soccer, volleyball, basketball, football, kickball, tennis, golf, even archery. She is so active & loves games/sports/activities of any kind so I knew this camp would be perfect for her. Plus I was hoping to expose her to as much as possible so we could figure out what she likes the best:
I was not surprised at all when she came home raving about basketball & soccer. She said golf & tennis were boring & she liked archery just because she had never done it before & she knew what it was because that's what Merida does on Brave. She loves watching golf at home with Bryan & I think she would like playing with him, but it's pretty obvious she likes team sports that are quick & fast.
Besides camp, she has been getting ready for school since it starts in 2 weeks. She had to go to school one day for:
All of the kindergarteners had a quick evaluation so their teachers could see their personality & where they are at academically. I think they use this info to help place them in classes.
She also had a follow up at her eye doctor:
Her vision is perfect with her glasses on! Her eye still crosses pretty bad when you take them off, but looks like the glasses are really helping:
She definitely needs to wear them full time except for when she is sleeping & swimming. And since I just talked about sports camp, it became pretty obvious that we needed to get her sports goggles:
She is a pretty tough girl & there is no way I want her out there playing in her every day glasses. This is the pair we ordered but she chose hot pink frames so we are waiting for them to come in. Her every day glasses are more neutral so I let her get whatever she wanted for fun :)
She also went to the dentist:
She has only lost that one tooth, but the one next to it is loose so we are hoping it falls out before school starts. Apparently she has already gotten 2 of her 6 year old molars - 1 on top & 1 on the bottom & I had no idea!
We have also gone school shopping:
We always take the girls every year & buy them new school shoes. She wanted twinkle toes (the ones that light up) which didn't surprise me & kind of made my mommy heart happy since she still likes those. Then she chose Converse, because that's what all the big girls wear. Oh no - it's starting already! And this is the first time I took her shopping & let her pick out some of her wardrobe. I gave her free reign to pick out what she wanted & we had fun letting her try it all on.
Besides getting ready for school, we have had a lot of play dates. I have been trying hard inviting friends over & scheduling play dates so she could see a lot of her friends who she won't see anymore when school starts. We invited over Grayson & Anna Grace for swimming:
One day we invited Hadley over to go to the movies with us. I have been taking Sadie every Tuesday to the $1 show while Sophie is at camp:
We love going to the movies & are going to miss our summer specials:
Only 13 more days before she starts school & I still cannot believe it's already time.
