Disney Cruise 2017

Nine months ago we booked a Disney cruise & last week we finally went! We never book vacations that far in advance & we were keeping it a secret from the kids so the suspense was killing me! We picked up the girls from school on Thursday & drove to Conroe to stay with my parents:

We only saw my parents briefly but we took advantage of a free place to stay. Thanks mom & dad!

We got up the next morning ready to head to Galveston but unfortunately the port was shut down due to fog :( We were supposed to board the ship at 11:00 that morning & we had big plans of checking out the boat before it got crowded, unpacking, etc. but none of that happened. Instead we met up with our friends for lunch & then waited in line until we could get on:

The girls found out on Christmas morning about the cruise but I don't think they fully understood it until they saw the boat:

To say they were excited is an understatement! All of the kids started breaking down & getting tired since we had to wait so long but eventually we made it on the ship around 6:00 that night:

We had a brief break when we got on board to get settled in. First surprise I had for the girls were magnets to decorate our door:

When we first started planning this trip, I read online how everyone decorated their doors so I had magnets made for each family. It was such a great idea because the hallways are so long & every door looks the same so it made it easy for the girls to find our room. And it was fun seeing everyone's decorations!

Next up, unloading all of their princess dresses:

I told Bryan it was the easiest trip so far because we didn't have diapers, sippy cups, strollers or car seats! But those princess dresses sure take up a lot of room!

After we settled in, they had a quick show:

Basically it was a quick welcome & introduction to the boat followed by dinner at Tiana's Place where the kids got to meet Tiana:

It ended up being a fun night but a lot later than we had imagined. Luckily the girls went to sleep easily because they were so excited to sleep on their own bed:

I have to say that even though the room was small, they did a great job with the space. It actually had 2 bathrooms, the first had a toilet & a sink with a vanity while the second had a shower with a sink & a vanity. The beds were tall enough to put all of the suitcases underneath & then the living room had a couch which converted to a bed (where Sophie was sleeping) & the top bunk bed folded down from the wall. They thought it was awesome! I thought the privacy curtain was awesome! We were only sleeping a few feet away but it's amazing what a little privacy will do :)

Overall we had a great week & came home exhausted:

This is what the girls looked like on our drive home Friday! Guess that's the sign of a good time, right?! I took a ton of pictures, more than normal since we traveled with friends & will probably blog all week. Let's just say we saw some fabulous shows, ate a lot of great food, saw too many Disney characters than I could count & spent some time relaxing at the beach.

Ahoy Matey!
