Christmas Eve 2016

We did some traveling before Christmas weekend so it was nice to wake up at home on Christmas Eve & have a relaxing morning. After a lazy morning & brunch, we finally cleaned up & headed to the candle light Christmas Eve service at church:

The kids were so excited to see a hot cocoa bar set up outside, even though it was in the 70's outside:

And it was fun to see friends as we were leaving. Take a look at these twinkies:

Next stop, Christmas with the Dodson family at Robert & Sherry's house. We haven't all been together in quite a while because a few of them were sick over Thanksgiving. The girls loved seeing everyone & of course they were showered with presents:

Of course we always miss Darren & Michele & Tim's family since they live out of state :( One of these days we will get to see them again soon!

After all of the traditional gift giving was finished, we ended the night with the adult Christmas exchange, which is my favorite part! We brought a new gift this year called the Potty Putter & it was a hit with all of the guys:

Eventually we made it home around 11:00 that night but the girls were still wide awake so it was the first time we got to do all of our late night Christmas Eve festivities with them. First we sprinkled reindeer food outside:

The girls had decorated iced sugar cookies for Santa so we put those out with a big glass of milk on the fireplace but of course I forgot to take a picture :( They looked pretty cute & tasty! Luckily both of them were exhausted & were excited for Christmas morning so they went to sleep pretty easily.

Sweet dreams!
