Life lately has been wet. It has pretty much rained every single day since Memorial Day weekend. And I'm not talking a little rain, I mean a ton of rain. It's actually kind of scary when you turn on the news & see the flooding all over the state. My poor flowers are dying outside because they have gotten too much water & not enough sunshine!
As crazy as it sounds, I took my car to get washed when we had a reprieve from the rain one morning. We needed to get out of the house & my car has been filthy, inside & out. I knew I last least needed the inside clean & then if it got rained on again, they have a 7 day rain guarantee. The girls love going to the car wash:
It rained so hard one day that we never left the house. This is unusual for us because we are busy bodies & tend to get bored at home. Including this day. I think we put together every puzzle in the house:
We also colored, painted our toenails, played with play dough, played with kinetic sand - so much I can't even remember it all. Basically more than we usually do!
Sadie decided to go camping & built herself a tent:
I don't know if most people camp in tiaras or bring their laptops, but my girls do :)
Finally on Friday we went to the mall just to get out of the house. We played at the playground, ate lunch in the food court & then I surprised them with a movie:
No, we didn't fight the crowds to see TMNT, Sadie just wanted to take her picture with them. We actually saw Zootopia:
We haven't seen any movies this year. I would love to go more often & take Sadie but Sophie has never done good at them. Until yesterday. Finally, at 2 1/2 years of age, she sat there & watched the entire show! It probably helped I gave her a lot of popcorn, but this made me really excited for the summer movie clubhouse this summer.
Finally the sun came up this morning just in time for a birthday party. Brynna had her party planned at a neighborhood park that had a splashpad & the girls were in heaven getting to run around outside again:
It was a great morning & I am optimistic that we will spend a lot more time outside this week now that the rain is finally leaving the forecast. We are ready for summer weather!
