Spring Break 2016

Last week was spring break for FISD & the girls had a break from Sonshine also. Bryan found out a while ago that he had to go to Las Vegas for work & would be there from Sunday - Friday. Once I realized he would be gone during spring break, I was a bit bummed because that meant a long week for me with no school, so we decided to tag along!
Like I mentioned, he flew out on Sunday, but we stayed home a few days. The girls had gymnastics & swimming lessons on Monday. Tuesday morning, Sadie went to soccer camp with Kenzie:

One of the local high schools, Heritage, sponsored a day camp with the high school men's soccer team. We thought it would be fun for them to learn & play with the big kids & they had a blast! She came home asking when she could go again. Guess she is really liking soccer!

While we were home, I got these pictures from Bryan:

There was a lot of entertaining going on in Vegas besides the conference. Besides fancy dinners & parties, one of his clients invited him to race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Pretty awesome, huh?! I don't think he has ever done anything like this before.

We headed to the airport Tuesday afternoon but our flight was delayed a couple of hours due to weather, so the girls got to play at the playground:

Thank goodness we fly often & this is a smaller airport, so I knew where the playground & good eating places were. That helped kill time but I was still nervous about our flight because it was the first time I flew by myself with the girls:

God must have answered my prayers because the girls did awesome! Sadie always does good, but I was concerned about Sophie but it was probably the best flight she has ever taken. It helps that we always sit on the last row of the airplane & the flight attendants usually let her walk around & play :) My only complaint was the turbulence. It was one of the roughest flights I have flown in a long time. The pilot actually made the attendants sit for most of the flight & they didn't get to serve us that long. I was actually holding on to the seat & praying since I was by myself with the girls, but they thought it was fun - they kept throwing up their hands & saying "wee!" like we were on a roller coaster ride.

Luckily we made it & I was a little disappointed that we got in late because it messed up our plans for dinner. But in hindsight, I am kind of glad we flew in at night because the moment our Uber turned on to the strip, the girls were in awe - I mean, they like Christmas lights & seeing all of the lights from the hotels was like Christmas on steroids! I know some of you are thinking that I am crazy for taking the girls to Vegas, but we flew for free & we crashed in Bryan's hotel room which was being paid for by his work, so we were only out spending money. And let me tell you, there is a lot of fun things to do in Vegas for kids - you would be surprised. Don't worry, I took tons of pictures like I always do so I will post them this week with our spring break surprises.
