Sesame Street Parade

We have traveled quite a bit with the girls, but the craziest thing happened when we were at Beaches so I thought it deserved a post all by itself. Apparently, every Wednesday night, they have the Sesame Street parade. Everyone at the resort kept talking about it all week & the counselors at camp told the girls to come at 5:00 for some special surprise before the parade started at 5:30. When we got there, they had costumes for them so they got to dress up & participate in the parade! They also had clowns making balloons, face painters, all kinds of crazy stuff:

Before we knew it, there were these random street performers:

followed by an even more random Jamaican band & dancers:

After the entertainment, all of the characters marched with anyone who wanted to participate, including our family:

We marched all through the resort singing & dancing while the band played until we ended at the main stage by the resort pool. Then they had a little show with more performers & dancers:

You can't tell from this picture but Sadie loved the dancers. I am a little worried she might have learned how to twerk after watching them :(

You know who else got to dance?!

That's right - Bryan got called up on stage, probably because he was wearing that bright mango colored shirt! He had to participate in a dance off contest & he was so embarrassed! He talked Sadie into joining him on stage but I didn't get any pictures, just videos.

I'm telling you, it was the most random thing we have ever seen traveling! But we enjoyed seeing the Jamaican band & dancers (even if they did wear costumes from the 80's!) and we had fun getting to participate. Definitely a moment I will remember from this trip :)
