My mom talked to the concierge before the girls & I flew in & they suggested we take the girls to Circus Circus. To be honest, I can't believe that hotel is still open! It seemed old back when I went to Vegas with my parents 20 years ago! But it is still around & is geared for kids. It's kind of far so we had to take an Uber. Unfortunately, we got there at 10:00 ready to go but nothing opened until 11:00. They have 2 areas for kids - The Midway with a lot of games & live performers & then Adventuredome, which has a bunch of rides. My parents had to fly out that afternoon so we only had time to choose one area (since we wasted an hour waiting for them to open!) & I chose Adventuredome because if I am paying money for something, I would rather enjoy a ride instead of wasting money on games with no return. Sadie agreed! We bought her a kids wristband so she got unlimited rides on everything she was tall enough for:
Sophie wasn't really tall enough for anything but that was ok because she is always scared of everything & says no anyway!
There were a couple of rides that Sadie could do if an adult rode with her, so of course she wanted me to tag along:
Ok, quick note about these pictures. The 2nd picture was a little roller coaster that spinned forwards & backwards & she loved it! We rode it twice. The top picture was a pirate ship that swing back & forth & it went pretty high - probably a little too high :( She started out with her hands up & she was cheering & before I knew it, she was holding on tight & she told me her stomach didn't feel so good. And then she laid down. Honestly, I thought she was going to throw up! Poor girl! I will admit it went pretty high both ways & I felt a drop in my stomach so I'm sure it really scared her. But she held on & made it through until we got off but we did not ride that one again!
Luckily they had a carousel so Sophie finally got to ride one ride! And my parents enjoyed taking them both on it:
We had to rush back to our hotel to tell Mimi & Doc bye, but we lucked out because Bryan was able to meet us for a late lunch. I had planned on taking my parents to the secret pizza joint at The Cosmo, but they didn't have time so we took the girls instead & it was just as good as I remembered!
I took the girls back to the room for a nap while Bryan finished working that afternoon but he surprised us & returned earlier than we thought so he took Sadie swimming while I stayed with Sophie napping:
Apparently Sadie is spoiled because she got bored at this big, fancy pool! She didn't have her goggles, there weren't any other kids around & no water slides. Seriously, she had fun & had been dying to go to the pool the entire time so I'm glad Bryan got to take her & spend time with her.
Our last night there Bryan did not have to work so he wanted to surprise the girls & take them to our favorite Italian restaurant that we discovered last time:
They serve a lot of complimentary appetizers so we knew the girls would be happy :) In case you are wondering, that is a giant wedge of parmesan cheese in the background! They did pretty good considering it was one of the nicest restaurants they have ever been to.
Afterwards we walked to Mirage to see the volcano:
Sophie hated it! She screamed, cried & made one of us hold her the entire time. I think Sadie enjoyed it but she acted kind of scared also, but sometimes she acts like Sophie since she gets extra attention.
While we were waiting for the volcano, we saw Olaf again:
Of course I said "Sadie, give him a high five" since I didn't want to pay but Bryan tells the girls to go take a picture & asked me for money :( Guess he didn't know our arrangement!
On our way home, we made one last stop:
We took Sadie to the original Serendipity in New York when she was younger & I love this place! We ate dinner there the night before with my parents but we were too stuffed for dessert & we had already bought Sprinkles cupcakes. So I made Bryan take us there instead! I let him choose & he picked the Fried Twinkie Sundae. It was over the top delicious! All 4 of us dug right in & there weren't any leftovers! What a fun way to end our last night there.
Thanks again for meeting us for a few days Mimi & Doc! Glad you got to spend some extra time with the girls & I enjoyed getting to go to dinner with Bryan while you babysat the first night :)
