Easter 2016

It was a beautiful weekend, especially for a holiday weekend. We spent the entire day outside on Saturday cleaning the back patio, putting all of our pillows & umbrellas out & getting the backyard ready for summer. We even cleaned out both garages & re-stocked the sidewalk chalk & bubbles. Sadie was a hard worker & earned a few quarters for all her help!
Too bad it cooled off that night because it was definitely cooler on Sunday. It was cloudy that morning, but was beautiful that afternoon. The girls slept in so I took pictures of their Easter baskets & got brunch ready while I was waiting:

That sneaky Easter Bunny left the girls pink & purple milk! And he was very practical & got the girls new headbands, necklaces, chap stick, earrings - lots of girlie goodies & little candy! He brought Sophie an umbrella since she doesn't have one & Sadie got new goggles for the pool this summer!

Seriously, the girls & Bryan slept forever. Finally they woke up after 9:00 but I made them stay upstairs until I could get Bryan up:

That might have been a bad idea because Sadie could see where all of the eggs were hidden, so when she came down she went crazy grabbing them all! Sophie got excited when she saw her Easter basket so she could care less about the egg hunt:

We finally got Sadie to help Sophie find a few eggs & then they had fun playing with all of their new stuff. Sadie was most excited about all of the money eggs! The Easter bunny liked to hide a bunch of quarters this year:

I made cinnamon rolls (per Sadie's request!) & while they were baking I gave both of the girls a pedicure. Of course we had to take pictures before we headed off to church:

After church, we went to Nanny's house & celebrated Easter with Bryan's family. We had such a great time eating & visiting that I forgot to take pictures :( And on our way home, our friends/neighbors invited us over for another Easter egg hunt. Lena absolutely spoiled the kids because she prepared so many eggs with ridiculous amounts of candy that all 4 of our children loved. Yet again, so much fun playing with them & running around that I didn't take any pictures.

By the time we got home, I was exhausted & the house looked like a small tornado had blown through. For some reason I decided since Easter was over I was ready to pack it up, so I stayed up late after the girls went to bed & put everything up. I quickly realized that after 6 eggs hunts this year, the girls have entirely too much candy & easter eggs:

This is going to sound bad, but I honestly don't mind the candy. We keep it up in the pantry & most of it is small portions, so we let the girls have a piece every now & then. Plus Bryan & I love sweets so we sneak it quite often! And candy doesn't go bad quickly so it will last us a while. But the eggs - that is just ridiculous. What are we going to do with that many eggs? So I went through them last night & kept half & packed up the others. We donated them this morning so another family can enjoy them next year. What a good lesson the girls learned when they helped me drop them off :)
