Life Lately

It has been a busy week. Since Bryan's been out of town I have been a single mom & our schedule has been hectic with Christmas next week. It all started last weekend since we had company. The girls were overwhelmed with birthday presents & they enjoyed opening every single one of them. Here is Sadie sorting her presents & Sophie's presents:

and here they are opening them:

We were excited that they got a couple of movies & a lot of games! We didn't have any games so it was fun building our collection. Sophie got more than Sadie because technically everyone pitched in for Sadie's new bedroom, but most of the toys they have done a good job sharing this week. Some of their favorites are a pink princess camera, a Frozen microphone, a pet vet & a vacuum cleaner:

We had our MOPS Christmas meeting on Wednesday & it was pajama day so the girls & I all wore our Christmas pajamas:

They had a photo booth set up so our table took a fun picture with the props:

The girls wore their Christmas outfits all week since they are running out of time to wear them until we pack them up for next year:

Sophie loved this shirt - she kept pointing to her stomach & saying Santa Clause!

On Thursday the parents were invited to chapel & I loved watching Sadie in action. All of the classes walked in one at a time & they each were assigned a color:

They sang a couple of songs & danced which is right up Sadie's alley:

As you can see, it was spirit day so everyone had their red polos on. When they finished singing, the director asked them to sit down & then they had watched a clip, had a quick devo & participated in a science project. I was impressed how good all of the kids sat there:

Of course Sadie was sitting by Ellie so it was cute watching them giggle with each other:

Bryan flew back in town last night & we went straight to a Christmas party so it was fun to have a night away, especially since I hadn't seen him all week. The girls were with a babysitter & poor Sophie got worse as the day went on. She cried all night in her sleep so I took her to the doctor this morning:

Her eyes were watering, her nose was really runny & she had a cough. Normally she has allergies, but I could tell this was something more. I'm sure everyone else thought she was fine because she felt 10x better this morning. In fact, the girls thought the doctor was fun because they got to color & read books:

Sophie is a tough cookie. Who knew she had a double ear infection! Like I said, I almost didn't bother with calling the doctor because she acted like normal, except I thought she had allergies. She never pulled at her ears or acted like they were bothering her, my only concern was her crying in her sleep:

Guess we should feel fortunate she just turned 2 & she is just now having her first ear infection. Thank goodness I got her in this morning & we didn't go all weekend with a crying baby! Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in & she will be ready to celebrate her birthday & Christmas next week.
