Bryan basically took the last 2 weeks of the year off from work, so the girls have loved spending extra time with him this week. We had been pretty busy, but they've also been spoiled! We have already met our deductible for the year, so we have had a lot of doctor appointments this month. Bryan had a scan & a follow up appointment with his oncologist, we both saw the dermatologist, he went to a orthopedist to have his knee looked at & I went to a podiatrist to have my feet looked at. And both of the girls have their annual check ups at the pediatrician. Unfortunately, when I went in for my regular skin check at the dermatologist, they found a mole on my leg that was cancerous so I had it removed on Monday morning:
It was a tiny mole, but they wanted to make sure they got all of the cells around it, so the incision was larger than I expected. I am not sure how many sutures I have inside, but I have 5 on the outside that I can see. Unfortunately I have to go 14 days with no strenuous activity, so that's why I scheduled it the week of Christmas. Figure I might as well sit around eating & being lazy!
While I was having a minor surgery, Bryan took the girls to the mall. I am thinking they may have done some Christmas shopping according to Sadie, but they also got to ride the carousel & eat lunch in the food court:
Love that sisterly bond!
On Tuesday, I had an interview at the airport so I dropped them off at Grapevine Mills & he treated them to a morning at the aquarium:
I met them afterwards & he treated all of us to lunch at Rainforest Café:
I'm telling you - spoiled!
Wednesday, Bryan had more appointments & errands to run, so I stayed home with the girls & then we surprised Sadie with a date that afternoon while Sophie stayed home napping with the babysitter. We took her on a movie date to see Alvin & The Chipmunks:
It is so fun taking her to the movies these days & I can't wait until Sophie is old enough to really join us. We will probably take the next couple of days off & spend some time at home celebrating Christmas with family, but we look forward to having one more week at home with Daddy next week!
