I mentioned that we started swimming lessons again for the winter, but I had yet to get any pictures. Sophie was a little hesitant at first. We moved her up to the super water babies class where she gets in the water without me. Technically, she is supposed to sit on the side of the pool with the other kids & listen/wait for her turn. She didn't quite understand that the first 2 weeks. And every time she got in the water, she yelled "no, no!". Bryan came to watch her last week & that made it even worse because all she wanted to do was run to him & sit in his lap :(
I'm not sure what happened this week, but as soon as walked in the swim center, Sophie started clapping & saying "yay!". I think she realized that she was going swimming & she was excited! So I finally asked for a picture of the 2 of them before they walked into the pool area:
This is how every picture of the 2 of them turns out. Sadie gets so excited she always puts her arm around Sophie & then I am yelling "Sophie, look - Sophie, smile!" so Sadie tries hugging her & then it makes it worse. Kind of cute though!
Once inside, Sophie walked straight to her turtle, sat down & stayed there the entire time:
I actually got to sit on the side with the other parents fully clothed :) She didn't cry at all, not once. I was so proud of her! I think she realized that Sadie is at swimming lessons also & she wants to do exactly what her big sister is doing. So she spent most of the class saying "Hi Sadie" & waving across the pool. It was really cute & I didn't mind because she was actually paying attention & doing was she was supposed to be doing.
She loved all of the songs & swam independently by herself better than I have ever seen her. I think she thoroughly enjoyed being at swimming lessons with her new friends:
I'm not exactly sure what happened, but something clicked & I love it! I am ok if she doesn't love swimming as much as Sadie & doesn't take lessons as long as she has, but I do want her to know how to swim & how to save herself since we have a pool in the back yard. But I secretly hope she enjoys it since it's something the rest of us enjoy :)
